Msanii mahiri wa muziki wa kizazi kipya,ajulikanae kwa jina la kisanii Mr Blue akitumbuiza usiku huu kwenye tamasha la Inter-College Festival 2011 linalofanyika kwenye viwanja vya Royal Village,mjini Dodoma ambao tamasha hilo liliwahusisha wanafunzi wa vyuo mbalimbali,ambao walijitokeza kwa wingi kuwashuhudia wasanii mbalimbali walioendelea kutumbuiza kwenye tamasha hilo.

Pichani ni umati wa washabiki wa tamasha hilo waliojitokeza kwa wingi ndani ya viwanja vya Royal Village,jijini Dodoma.

DK SHEIN AFANYA ZIARA MASHARIKI YA KATI

ZIARA YA UJUMBE WA CCP ZANZIBAR

Jamuhuri ya Watu wa China itaendelea kuwa Kiungo muhimu katika harakati za kusaidia Uchumi na Maendeleo ya Tanzania na Zanzibar kwa ujumla.

Makamu wa Pili wa Rais wa Zanzibar Balozi Seif Ali Iddi ametoa kauli hiyo leo wakati akizungumza na Ujumbe wa Viongozi 21 wa Taasisi mbali mbali za Serikali na Chama cha kikomonisti cha China ukiongozwa na Mjumbe wa Kamati ya Siasa na pia Kamati Kuu ya Chama cha Kikoministi cha China CCP Bw. Liu Yunshan hapo Afisini kwake Vuga Mjini Zanzibar.

Balozi Seif alisema Tanzania na Bara zima la Afrika Limekuwa na kasi ya maendeleo kutokana na nguvu za msukumo wa China licha ya Baadhi ya Mataifa ya Magharibi kulalamikia hatua hiyo ya china.

Alisema uwekezaji wa Makampuni ya China katika Miradi ya Kiuchumi hasa yale ya Maadini, Viwanda na Miundo mbinu ya Mawasiliano imeweza kusaidia mapato ya Taifa na kuongeza ajira kwa Wazalendo waliowengi hasa Vijana

Amesema kuwa Wenzetu wa Magharibi wanalalamikia kasi ya China Kuvamia Bara la Afrika kiuchumi lakini wamesahau kuwa China ni mshirika wa Bara hili tokea Nchi zetu zinadai Uhuru kutoka kwa hao wanaomlalamikia.

Makamu wa Pili wa Rais wa Zanzibar Balozi Seif aliueleza Ujumbe huo kwamba Zanzibar bado inahitaji nguvu za Jamuhuri ya Watu wa China katika kuimarisha Uchumi wake.
Balozi Seif alisema Wawekezaji na Makampuni ya China yana nafasi nzuri wa kuwekeza miradi yao Zanzibar hasa katika Sekta ya Utalii na Viwanda.

Aliipongeza China kwa Juhudi za kutoa Taaluma kwa watendaji mbali mbali wa Serikali ya Mapinduzi ya Zanzibar wakiwemo wale wa Sekta inayondelea kuimarishwa hivi sasa kwa ajili ya utoaji ajira ya Uvuvi.

Naye Mjumbe wa Kamati ya Siasa na pia Kamati kuu cha Chama cha Kikoministi cha China Bwana Liu Yunshan alimueleza Balozi Seif kwamba Nchi yake itaendelea kuunga mkono sekta za Uchumi na Maendeleo ya Tanzania na Zanzibar kwa jumla.

Bw. Liu alisema Makampuni mengi yameonyesha hamu ya kuendelea kuwekeza katika maeneo ya Umeme, Madini na Viwanda kufuatia rasilmali iliyopo Nchini Tanzania.

Mjumbe huyo wa Kamati Kuu cha Chama Cha Kikomonisti cha China (CCP) amesisitiza kwamba uhusiano wa muda mrefu uliopo kati ya China na Tanzania na Zanzibar unastahiki kuimarishwa zaidi.

Ujumbe huyo wa Viongozi 21 kutoka Jamuhuri ya Watu wa China upo Nchini Tanzania kwa ziara rasmi na tayari umeshakukutana kwa mazungumzo na Viongozi wa Kitaifa akiwamo Mwenyekiti wa Chama cha Mapinduzi Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete pamoja na Kutembelea sekta za Kiuchumi.

Ujmbe huo ambao ulifanya ziara ya siku moja Zanzibar ulitarajiwa kuondoka leo.

Makamu wa Rais wa Jamhuri ya Muungano wa Tanzania, Dkt Mohammed Gharib Bilal, akisoma hotuba yake wakati wa uzinduzi wa Kampeni ya Chanjo ya ugonjwa wa Surua na Polio kwa watoto kati ya mwezi mmoja hadi miaka mitano, Kitaifa iliyofanyika kwenye Uwanja wa Sheikh Amri Abeid jijini Arusha leo.

Mohammed Gharib Bilal, akimpa tone la dawa ya Chanjo mtoto, Renatha Faustine (1) wakati wa alipokuwa akizindua Kampeni ya Chanjo ya ugonjwa wa Surua na Polio kwa watoto kati ya mwezi mmoja hadi miaka mitano, Kitaifa iliyofanyika kwenye Uwanja wa Sheikh Amri Abeid jijini Arusha leo Novemba 12, 2011. Aliyembeba mtoto ni mama wa mtoto huyo, Selina Hando Mkazi wa Moshono Arusha. Kulia ni Agness Joseph mkazi wa Mbulu, akiwa na mtoto wake, Marry Emmanuel, wakisubiri kupata chanjo hiyo.

Makamu wa Rais Dk. Mohammed Gharib Bilal amezindua kampeni ya chanjo ya kitaifa ya surua na kuwataka wananchi kote nchini kujitokeza kuwapeleka watoto kwenye vituo vya kutolea huduma ya chanjo ili chanjo hiyo iwafikie wote kwa asilimia 100.

Katika hafla hiyo iliyofanyika leo katika uwanja wa Sheikh Amri Abeid,mjini Arusha Dk. Bilal alizindua pia kampeni ya utoaji wa matone ya polio,Vitamin “A” na dawa za minyoo kwa watoto wa chini ya umri wa miaka mitano.

Akifafanua, Makamu wa Rais alisema sayansi ya utoaji chanjo ya surua kwa watoto waliokamilisha miezi 9 inasisitiza kuwapata watoto wote kwa asilimia 100, lakini kiwango cha chanjo ya surua hapa nchini kimefikia asilimia 92.

“Takribani asilimia 10 ya watoto ambao hawakupatiwa chanjo, kuna uwezekano mkubwa wa kupatwa na ugonjwa wa surua na hatimaye kusababisha kutokea kwa mlipuko wa surua baada ya miaka mitatu,” alieleza Dk. Bilal na kuongeza “Ili kuthibiti mlipuko, Wizara ya Afya na Ustawi wa Jamii, kupitia Mpango wa Taifa wa Chanjo hulazimika kufanya kampeni ya chanjo ya surua kila baada ya miaka mitatu.”

Alisema Serikali na wadau wake inaendelea na jitihada za kununua na kusambaza chanjo za kutosha,kuongeza vituo vya kutolea huduma ya chanjo hadi kufikia vituo 6,300 na pia kuongeza huduma za mkoba kwa maeneo yasiyofikika na yasiyo na vituo vya kutolea huduma za chanjo zikijumuishwa na huduma nyingine za mama na mtoto.

Alibainisha kuwa kampeni hiyo ya siku nne imelenga kuwapatia chanjo ya surua takribani watoto milioni 6.7 wa kuanzia miezi tisa hadi umri chini ya miaka mitano, chanjo ya polio watoto milioni 7.9 walio chini ya miaka mitano, watoto milioni 7.1 wa umri kati ya miezi sita hadi chini ya miaka mitano watapata matone ya Vitamin A na watoto milioni 6.2 walio na umri kuanzia mwaka mmoja hadi chini ya miaka mitano watapewa dawa za minyoo.

“Kuwapatia chanjo kutawasaidia watoto wote kutopata maradhi mbalimbali,ambayo yanazuilika kwa chanjo na hivyo kuwa na afya njema. Kukamilisha chanjo kutaiwezesha Serikali kutumia fedha ambazo zingetumika kugharamia wagonjwa na matibabu ziweze kutumika katika miradi mingine ya maendeleo,”alisema Makamu wa Rais.

Alisema Serikali imepata mafanikio makubwa katika kufikia malengo ya millennia kwa kupunguza vifo vya watoto chini ya miaka mitano kutoka vifo 112 kati ya watoto 1,000 kwa mwaka 2005 hadi kufikia vifo 81 kati ya watoto 1,000 kwa mwaka 2009 na kwamba lengo hilo limeweza kufikiwa ikiwa ni pamoja na kuhakikisha watoto wengi wamepatiwa chanjo.

Kwa mujibu wa Dk. Bilal tiba ya ugonjwa huo na madhara yake yana gharama kubwa kutokana na ukweli kwamba surua husababisha hususan vifo, upofu au ulemavu wa maisha.

Awali akizungumza katika hafla hiyo, Waziri wa Afya na Ustawi wa Jamii,Dk. Hadji Mponda alisema mbali ya chanjo zilizopo, wizara yake inatarajia kuanzisha chanjo ya kuzuia magonjwa ya vichomi na kuhara kwa watoto pamoja na saratani ya shingo ya kizazi itakayotolewa kwa wasichana.

Alisema matumizi ya ratiba mpya ya chanjo ya vichomi na kuhara yataanza Januari 01, mwakani na chanjo ya saratani ya shingo ya kizazi itatolewa kwa wasichana wa umri wa miaka 9 na itatolewa kwa awamu ukianzia mikoa mitatu ya Dodoma, Dar es salaam na Kilimanjaro.

Viongozi wa Mataifa yaliyomo ndani ya Ukanda ya Maziwa Makuu Barani Afrika wana wajibu mkubwa wa kuhakikisha amani iliyorudi ndani ya ukanda huo inaendelea kuwepo na kulindwa kwa nguvu zote.

Katibu mkuu wa Mikutano ya Ukanda huo Balozi Liberata Mulamula alieleza hayo wakati akizungumza na Makamu wa Pili wa Rais wa Zanzibar Balozi Seif Ali Iddi hapo Afisini kwake Vuga Mjini Zanzibar.

Balozi Mulamula alisema Jumuiya ya Afrika ya Mashariki hivi sasa imefikia pahala pazuri katika kuelekea kwenye maendeleo baada ya muda mrefu wa vurugu na migogoro ya vita vya wenyewe kwa wenyewe katika Baadhi ya Mataifa ya Jumuiya Hiyo.

Balozo Mulamula alisema kwamba huu ni muda muwafaka kwa jamii za Mataifa ya Ukanda huu kuelekeza nguvu zao katika uzalishaji mali kwa vile eneo hili bado lina Rasilmali nyingi ambazo mpaka sasa hazija tumika.

“ Tunashukuru kwamba hali ya Ukanda wa Maziwa Makuu imetulia kidogo, hivyo ni vyema tukaichunga chunga isipotee ”. Alisema Balozi Mulamula.

Aliipongeza Tanzania kupitia Vaiongozi wake wa Awamu mbali mbali kwa juhudi zake za kusaidia amani ndani ya Ukanda huu jambo ambalo limeleta faraja kwa jamii nyingi hivi sasa.

Naye Makamu wa Pili wa Rais wa Zanzibar Balozi Seif Ali Iddi alisema Balozi Mulamula anastahiki kuheshimiwa na Mataifa ya Ukanda huu kwa juhudi zake zilizosaidia kusukuma kasi ya amani ndani ya kanda hii.

Alisema bado wapo watu wenye mawazo ya kutaka yaliyotokea Rwanda, Burundi na Somalia yatokee pia kwenye Mataifa yenye am,ani ndani ya Ukanda wa Maziwa Makuu.

“ Wenzetu wanatusema kuwa Afrika ni mahala pa Njaa, Umaskini na Mapigano lakini wanasahau kwamba mengine wanasababisha na kuyasimamia wao ”. Alisisitiza Balozi Seif.

Wakati huo huo Makamu wa Pili wa Rais wa Zanzibar Balozi Seif Amepokea Mchango wa pole ulotolewa na Wananchi wa Mkoa wa Tanga kwa ajili ya Mfuko wa Maafa Zanzibar.

Mchango huo umewasilishwa na Mkuu wa Mkoa huo Luten Mstaafu Chiku Gallawa akiuongoza ujumbe wa Viongozi sita wakiwemo pia wafanyabiashara wa Mkoa huo.

Luteni Mstaafu Chiku Gallawa alisema wana Tanga wa haki ya kuwafariji wenzao wa Zanzibar kwa vile jamii za Wananchi wake zimeingiliana kidamu.

Alisisitiza haja ya kufanya kazi pamoja katika kahakikisha sheria na taratibu za mwenendo mzima wa usafiri wa Baharini ambao pia unaunganisha maeneo hayo mawili unazingatiwa vyema.

Kwa upande wake Makamu wa Pili wa Rais wa Zanzibar Balozi Seif Ali Iddi ameushukuru Uongozi huo pamoja na Wananchi wa Mkoa wa Tanga kwa kuonyesha kuguswa kwao na Msiba uliowakumba wenzao wa Zanzibar wa Kuzama kwa Meli ya M.V.Spice Islanders Tarahe 10 mwezi Septemba mwaka huu.

Uongozi wa Mkoa wa Tanga Umekabidhi Mchango wa zaidi ya Shilingi Milioni kumi na Moja Nukta Mbili.

Meya wa manispaa ya Ilala Jerry Silaa akibadilishana nyaraka za mkataba wa awali na Mkurugenzi mtendaji wa Tanzania Investment Bank baada ya kutia saini makubaliano ya awali ya manispaa ya Ilala kukopa fedha kwa ajili ya ujenzi wa soko la kisasa la kisutu. Manispaa ya Ilala sio tu ndiyo ya kwanza kwa halmashauri zote nchini kuingia makubaliano na TIB,Bali pia mradi huu utakuwa unamilikiwa kwa 100% na halmashauri tofauti na miradi ya ubia. Hii imekuja kuunga mkono jitihada za Rais wetu mpendwa Jakaya M Kikwete aliyeiongezea mtaji TIB kwa maendeleo ya nchi yetu. Ujenzi unategemewa kuanza mapema mwakani na mpango huu utaendelezwa kwenye masoko mengine kutimiza mpango wa meya Silaa wa kuwa na masoko makubwa na ya kisasa kama njia mojawapo ya kuondoa machinga mitaani,kukuza ajira na huduma.

Joe Nichols, ‘It’s All Good’ – Album Review

Joe Nichols is as smooth as ever on his new album ‘It’s All Good.’ The 10 songs are as easy as a Sunday morning cup of coffee. Vocally, he never gets you too riled up. One can take his or her time enjoying the traditional purity of his voice.

Sometimes life needs a shot of espresso, however, and Nichols doesn’t provide that on ‘It’s All Good.’ The album’s more introspective moments (‘How I Wanna Go’ and ‘Never Gonna Get Enough’) stand out over those relying on a clever hook (the radio ready ‘The More I Look). The lone blast of tempo is ‘This Ole Boy,’ a song that Craig Morgan recorded more convincingly.

‘Somebody’s Mama’ is a heartbreaking tale of a love that got away. The song is a reminder of the George Strait comparisons Nichols used to get early in his career, and the singer patiently delivers the album’s best performance here. The title track is another unapologetic traditional country tune, full of undistorted fiddle and pedal guitar licks.

It takes some patience to appreciate Nichols’ seventh studio album, as the only obvious hit is the first single ‘Take It Off.’ After a few listens one will begin to fall into his warm and honest voice — or, at the very worst, you’ll fall into a pleasant sleep trying.

Thompson Square More Nervous About 2011 CMAs Performance Than Competing for Trophies

This week, husband and wife duo Thompson Square will face off against some of country music’s hottest stars in the two categories they are nominated in. Keifer and Shawna Thompson are up for Vocal Duo of the Year (against the Civil Wars, Montgomery Gentry, Steel Magnolia and Sugarland) and for New Artist of the Year (agaisnt the Band Perry, Luke Bryan, Eric Church and Chris Young). But they’re most nervous about their live performance of their first chart-topping single, ‘Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not.’


“Just the thought of looking down and seeing Reba McEntire staring back at me,” Shawna Thompson tells Taste of Country with a laugh. “It’s a little nerve-wracking just thinking about it! It’s going to be so much fun, though. It’s going to be a great opportunity for Keifer and I to get our faces out there, because [there's] a whole lot of people who know ‘Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not,’ but they don’t know who sings it.”

Those who are not familiar with the duo will have plenty of opportunities to get to know them next year when they hit the road with Lady Antebellum and Darius Rucker on Lady A’s Own the Night Tour. Their leg of the tour kicks off on Jan. 27 in Tulsa, Okla. and will run through May. Click here for a complete list of dates where the tour will be stopping.

Thompson Square’s latest single, ‘I Got You,’ is the third release from their self-titled debut album. The song is currently in the Top 10, well on its way to becoming their second chart-topping hit of their career.

10 Things You Didn’t Know About Scotty McCreery

Scotty McCreery turns 18 years old today. To say it's been a big year for the high school senior would be an understatement of enormous proportions. Imagine that just 12 months ago he was sitting at home in Garner, N.C. hoping he could make it out of the Hollywood rounds on 'American Idol,' and this month he'll be singing the National Anthem at the World Series.

McCreery celebrated his birthday with a few thousand fans, friends and family during a concert/album release party in Raleigh, N.C. yesterday. Always the generous soul, he made sure 11 different charities had 100 tickets each to the show. It was his way of giving back after a year in which his hometown has been so supportive of him. Happy birthday, Scotty!


10.Scotty will go to college, but he might not major in music.
Belmont University in Nashville and N.C. State University are two schools McCreery is considering after finishing up at Garner High School. He'd study music business at Belmont, but that wouldn't be his focus at N.C. State. He tells Country Weekly that he might take advantage of the strong engineering program at his hometown school. He jokes that he might not be smart enough to get in, but he's been a regular honor roll student in high school.


9.That funny microphone grip — he can't explain it either.
How could we forget McCreery's flute-like microphone grip from the early rounds of 'American Idol.' A choir director of his suggested it was because he always sang into a crooked neck microphone, but the now 18 year old says it isn't that simple. “I don’t know what the heck that was,” McCreery tells the Boston Globe. “I think it’s just because I'm used to pitching, and that’s how I hold the ball in the glove with the limp wrist in the glove. I never held a mic before 'American Idol.'”



8.Scotty's bracelet carries an important message.
The cross around McCreery's neck has become more famous than the bracelet around his wrist, maybe because it was the necklace he turned to after Lady Gaga gave him sensational advice during 'American Idol.' However, the words 'I am second,' a deference to God, are scrolled into his wrist-wear.


7.Scotty has space dreams.
Perhaps McCreery is considering the engineering program at N.C. State University because he hasn't given up on his space dreams. In an early episode of 'American Idol,' the singer said he always wanted to explore space, but “my brains were not astronaut material.” Don't give up Scotty, maybe like Steve Miller you can be the 'Space Cowboy.'

6.He didn't really have to go back to school.
Multiple sources, including teachers, have revealed that Scotty only needs one class to graduate, and he could take it online if he wanted to. So why did he return for his senior year? Being around long time friends and family keeps him humble, McCreery says. Plus he doesn't want to miss out on senior year traditions like Friday night football and — maybe — prom.



5.There's a fire behind that boyish face.
McCreery's former baseball coach described a young man that few fans who've followed him since the early rounds of 'American Idol' are familiar with. His “competitive fire burns deep,” Garner High School's Kurtis Pake told Taste of Country early this year. He described a game in which McCreery pitched a complete game, but wouldn't have given up the baseball if they'd tried to take it from him. The singer played it cool on stage during the television show, but one wonders how focused and driven he was to win, and not just finish with a nice consolation prize.


4.Scotty is a dog lover.
Scotty grew up with dogs, and his parents still have two Bichon Frises at home. They're named Junior and Becky, and McCreery has referred to them as “fou-fou” dogs and called them “weird.” Geesh, maybe he's not so much of a dog lover.


3.There's a baseball Hall of Famer in his family.
During a recent visit to the MLB studios, McCreery revealed that he's not only a fan of baseball, he's got the sport in his blood. Hall of Famer Jim “Catfish” Hunter was on his mother Judy's side of the family. She says they're distant cousins, but the 'The Trouble With Girls Singer' quips, “I tell people we were closely related. He was my uncle.”

2.We were almost cheering for Evan McCreery.
Judy and Mike McCreery had a change of heart on the way to the hospital, and decided to name their second child Scott Cooke McCreery instead of Evan. The name Evan doesn't have the same wholesome, down-home ring to it. We'll stick with Scotty, although early 'American Idol' viewers may remember he called himself Scott during the auditions.



1.There's a girl out there who broke Scotty's heart.
Shortly before McCreery won 'American Idol,' his longtime guitar teacher revealed that McCreery was a talented songwriter as well. “I heard him do one about a girl … that was about how she had broken his heart,” Gary Epperson told Taste of Country, “and the girl at the party [was] cryin’.” Be careful ladies, seems like there's a little Taylor Swift inside this handsome hero.

10 Things You Didn’t Know About Lauren Alaina

Lauren Alaina has granted an estimated three billion interviews since finishing second to Scotty McCreery on 'American Idol' in May 2011. It's hard to believe there is anything we haven't learned about her, but somehow we dug up 10 facts that surprised our resident Alaina lover. She's shared how each of the songs on her debut album, 'Wildflower,' have inspired her, but if it wasn't for a cousin with a potentially fatal condition America would never have heard of the teenage wonder. Family is very important to the singer, especially the women in her life. Fans watched as her mother held back tears during her first performance of 'Like My Mother Does' on 'Idol,' and Alaina holds back tears every time she watches a certain movie. 10.She blew out a vocal chord before the 'American Idol' finale.
Many fans never knew how close Alaina came to not being able to perform during the 'American Idol' finals. Second runner-up Haley Reinhart was standing by because Alaina had shredded a vocal chord. “I went on vocal rest, drank lots of tea, had medical assistance and most of all, prayed about it,” she explained. Us Magazine reports that nerves were the reason for the injury, but judging by how cool she looked once onstage, we hardly believe it.


9.She began her singing career at Cici's Pizza.
Alaina's old boss at Cici's Pizza remembers her singing around the restaurant. She'd whistle or hum a tune as she filled the salad buffet, and customers began to notice. “Now I have thoughts like, 'I may have asked the next 'American Idol' to sweep crumbs up off the floor,” manager Mike Wild told TimesFreePress.com. Pizza is one of Alaina's favorite foods (see No. 3), so the job worked out well for her and her old boss, who said, “There's not a day goes by that someone doesn't ask about her. She's a special girl.”


8.A cousin with brain cancer inspired her to sing.
Alaina's cousin Holly was diagnosed with brain cancer three years before the teen auditioned for 'American Idol,' and she proved to be an inspiration in more ways than one. During the Nashville audition rounds, judge Randy Jackson complimented Holly Witherow on her ear for talent. In fact, everyone was raving about the then 15-year-old Alaina. Rumor has it she was the one producer Nigel Lythgoe was speaking of when he tweeted, “We have just seen a really gifted 15 year old that may well win #AmericanIdol this Season. Brilliant talent in Nashville today.”


7.She has a turtle named Squirt.
There hasn't been as much coverage on Squirt since 'Idol' ended, but barring a tragic accident at home it's believed he (come on, Squirt has to be a boy's name) is doing fine. Alaina's palScotty McCreery had two Bichon Frises growing up. Perhaps Squirt will some day get to romp with Junior and Becky.


6.She's a fan of the Crimson Tide.
This is somewhat surprising since the Georgia resident has two in-state college football teams in the University of Georgia and Georgia Tech University to overlook before rooting for the Alabama Crimson Tide. The singer has had plenty to cheer about in recent years, but the 2010 loss Cam Newton and the Auburn Tigers had surely stung.


5.The famous ankle sprain wasn't her first serious leg injury.
The Ledger-Enquirer in Columbus, Ga. asked Alaina about the sparkly boot that she had to wear this summer after falling in high heels and learned that the one-time cheerleader once broke her leg cheering. The ankle injury was worse, however, if only because she had a nation full of fans waiting to see her during the American Idols Live Tour. “It drives me crazy,” she said at the time.


4.For breakfast it's an omelet (with everything on it and in it).
That was her favorite breakfast, but it's only to be considered these days when she's willing to cheat on her diet that has brought her down to a slim size.
Now it's a daily egg white omelet for Alaina, void of meat or cheese or anything that makes breakfast more enjoyable.

3.Her favorite pizza topping is … all of them.
In fact, Alaina only eats the toppings. These days it makes sense as the singer has admittedly cut most carbohydrates on her way to dropping 25 pounds since the May 'American Idol' finale. This has always been her strategy, however. Perhaps she feeds the leftover crusts to Squirt.



2.Her favorite movie is 'Titanic,' but she can't watch it anymore.
in the fifth grade, Alaina would come home from school every day and watch 'Titanic' with her grandmother. In an interview with The Boot, she shared that the tradition was bonding time with grandma, but it made it difficult to let go upon her death a few years later. Recently, she shared how she handled the passing of her mother's mother. She also recounted the traumatic night her grandfather called to tell her parents that her grandmother had stopped breathing.

1.When 'American Idol' began, Lauren Alaina had a boyfriend.
During the 'American Idol' Top 13 party in March, Alaina told Us Magazine that there was someone special in her life. “There's somebody and he lives across the U.S. right now,” she said, refusing to name the suitor. If the relationship survived the competition, we wonder how he felt about the blond singer laying a big, fat kiss on Scotty McCreery on finale night.
