UPDATE: Yela delays the album another month after previously announcing a September release.
Yelawolf has set a release date for his major label debut. The Shady Records artist is set to drop his album Radioactive on September 27th, while the title was taken from a song that was originally recorded with Big Boi.“Radioactive, I wrote that title... My manager Bear came up with that title for a song, originally, that we were doing with Big Boi,” he told The Hip Hop Chronicle. “That was going to be the song title name, but the concept for ‘Ain’t No DJ.’

He also spoke on wanting to broaden the appeal of the album to resonate with mainstream audiences. “With Radioactive, the name was so big and I’m trying to make that crossover step to be active on radio. So this is basically just taking a chance, taking an opportunity, having a first release for a major,” he continued.

UPDATE: According to a press release, Yelawolf has pushed back his album to release on October 25th.
“Radioactive is the fall out of my life’s inspirations, a testament to my ability to survive it all and to tell the story,” he said in a statement. “Sometimes I want to party, sometimes I want to fight and sometimes I want to cry. I’m human and this album is as honest as it gets.”
His Shady Records boss, Eminem, echoed Yela's sentiments. "We are very eager for the world to hear Radioactive and proud to be presenting the album on Shady Records,” said Em. “Yelawolf is a true original and he has crafted an incredible record."
